The Economics Club of Hampton Roads is an organization for business and government executives and community leaders who share an interest in the practical implications of economic principles, trends and events. It was established in 1991 as a community service by Old Dominion University's former President, James V. Koch, and is administered by the Dean of the College of Business and Public Administration, Nancy A. Bagranoff, under the supervision of an elected board.


P.S. By the way, Dennis Gartman: The Gartman Letter, investment advisory , newsletter, frequently interviewed on CNBC, MSNBC, whom we met in Dayton was speaking for the Economics Club last December.

As most of you know, we own Wal-Mart in our portfolio.(80 shares) I highly recommend to watch Sam's Walton (founder of Wal-Mart) Biography on CNBC! Great Leadership!!!!! By the way, did you know that Hilary Clinton was the first woman on the Wal-Mart's board of directors?

Financial Management Finance Club Meeting

Professor Griffith sent an email regarding the Finance Club Meeting on Thursday. I am not sure if all of you got it, but just in case you didn't here is the information for your consideration,.
We have a great program for the Finance Club meeting this Thursday, April 8 from 12:15-1:20 in Constant Hall Room 1005. The Financial Planning Association of Hampton Roads will present "Bridge the Gap" which is designed for students who are considering a career in the financial planning field. This program is a panel discussion of three financial planning professionals: Amanda Gift of Signature Financial Management, Ben Kalkert of Level Four Advisory Services and Scott Davis of First Command Financial Services. Kevin Zywna of Bunting Capital Management will moderate the discussion which will focus on how students can make the transiition from student to financial planner.
